If you began experiencing a lot of challenges this year around April, it may have something to do with the three planets – Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn – that went into retrograde last month. These planets so happen to rule the more abstract aspects of our personal lives and since retrogrades have everything to do with graduating further beyond hindering patterns and issues of the past, we may be facing the resurfacing of pain from old wounds we thought had already healed.
You’ve likely got more layers of healing to go!
Jupiter (retrograde April 10 – August 11, 2019), being the planet that rules the acquiring of knowledge and luck, is checking us on things that hinder our ability to attract the things we want. If you’re finding yourself frustrated due to lack, now is a good time to look in yourself to figure out why.
Pluto (retrograde April 24 – October 3, 2019) is the planet that rules the process rebirth. Use any tough ordeals to see where you are being encouraged to mature and let go of certain thoughts or behaviors in order to propel yourself into a more enlightened sense of being.
Ringed Saturn (retrograde April 29 – September 18, 2019) reminds us of where we are limited, and wants us to learn the proper discipline necessary for us to endure the tests of time. This requires hard work and critical introspection in the areas in our lives that could use some considerable tightening up.
Watch my tarot reading for the retrogrades below:
2019 has proven to be pretty eventful astrologically and the excitement is only just beginning. We are currently on the tail end of our first Mercury retrograde of the year as we transition into a new zodiacal year accompanied by a super full moon.
The dark period of winter is finally floating away as we enter the new season. Spring Equinox falls on March 20th, 2019 during which there will be equal parts day and night. For those who have had their foot in shadow work recently may easily see the message of integration – to embrace the light and dark aspects of ourselves fully. However, I’m sure most of us will appreciate the psychophysiological benefits of increased sunshine coming our way.
The Mercury retrograde in Pisces may have caused some emotional upheaval in the areas of communication but the Libra full moon will encourage us to start cleaning some things up. Libra, ruled by Venus, is all about harmonious relationships and the appreciation of all things beautiful. This is a great time to learn how to clearly and effectively express our feelings, listen more, and set proper boundaries with our associates and loved ones if necessary.
Also, we can learn a thing or two from the earthworm for which this full worm moon is named for. The spiritual essence of this creature is hardworking and diligent, able and willing to go to the necessary depths that many others may not,or cannot, in order to get things done. For those who follow moon cycles as a spiritual practice, full moons are a perfect for implementing release rituals. These rituals help us move beyond old thinking and behaviors that no longer serve us. The Libra full moon is ideal for letting go of the toxic thoughts and behaviors that have hindered us in relationships with others and ourselves. In addition to a release ritual, I also find it helpful to do a card reading for what to expect up until the following new moon.
Aries being the first sign of the zodiac, we can expect new beginnings as we tend to in the spring season. Flowers are beginning to bloom and the life forms that took rest during the cold months are coming alive again. We could use this time to start a new garden, plan a new outdoor workout routine or view this as a new chapter (or proverbial season) in our spiritual journey after having survived the darkest hours. There are no limits.
Tap into your inner desires and get creative! Namaste.
Sunday, January 20th, brought us our first full moon of the year and it came with embellishments. Luna in Leo, was a beautiful blood red and relatively close in proximity to the earth making it a super moon at that.
Luna encouraged the lion in all of us to roar in one way or another. For some, that might have been troublesome depending on what’s going in our lives right now and how we chose to be expressive. The stars are positioning themselves in a way to push us to seek healing in the deepest places of our being so we can transcend beyond the places in which we have been stuck all this time.
I pulled a tarot with the intention of having these recent occurrences explained and gaining clarity on how to move forward. Watch the video below for to see the reading:
What challenges have you faced or are you facing since the Blood Moon?
The final full moon of the year has passed now and if you were anything like me, you went through a series of various emotions. Depending on the level of contentment with your relationships, you might have felt the need to block people out and spend quality time with yourself. Maybe you chose to be a bit exclusive while only including certain people in your energetic space – fitting for moon in Cancer.
Releasing toxic behaviors and people would have been appropriate but today’s reading might suggest focusing more closely on growing the healthy connections we do have or may gain this coming year as we go forward:
This reading has great significance for me now and may gain more relevance later on. Does this reading resonate with you?
With the end of Mercury Retrograde, we are ushered into the final moon cycle of 2018. This is an ideal time to not only reflect over the year but to look towards new possibilities with the coming new year. This new moon is in Sagittarius, calling us to take our chances as we venture out into the new and unknown.
With spiritual guidance, I ask the cards four significant questions to assist us as we progress through the month: 1. What are we leaving behind?, 2. What is the lesson from the past cycle?, What are we embracing with this new moon?, and 4. How do we go about embracing this?
What are we leaving behind?
The Prince of Swords reversed, in alignment with the Mercury retrograde’s end, we are learning to communicate more clearly and fairly. We are being to understand how and why we should think before we speak so that we may get our points across effectively. We may also be learning how to accept the messages give to us even when they do not arrive in a way that is easy for us to swallow. We have shed some of that weakness and are growing stronger mentally and emotionally.
What is the lesson from the past?
The Hanged Man reminds us that we are not in control of everything, as much as we want to be. We have learned or are learning to let things go and trust that all will work out as it should. This is a sacrifice for some of us as we often attempt to interfere for what we consider to be the greater good. However, our efforts to fall back will be rewarded with more peace in our lives. We should take notice of this sacrifice and find that it is actually a gift.
What should we be embracing with the new moon?
Queen of Wands reversed wants us to be little bit selfish in terms of satiating our desire for exploration, teaching and new ways of thinking. The darkness of new moons represent our inner shadows that can be perceived poorly or even used for less than productive matters but there is another side to this. Our shadows are still a part of who we are and embracing is the only way we can understand it and use it for our betterment. There is nothing wrong with being selfish for the right reasons. Set your goals in place to reach your dreams! It’s okay to even be a little sassy when it comes to putting your foot down about what you really want in life. Self-expression is important but be careful not to misdirect moodiness or become overly arrogant.
How do we go about embracing this?
Eight of Wands suggest that we should just go for it! We know what we want and if we’ve been working hard for it, we will start to see positive changes pretty quickly. Authenticity is key while moving forward but we mustn’t forget that consequences accompany our rawness. However, as long as our actions are aligned with our goals, like the archer should draw our bow and shoot our shot!
